Growing up, I always wanted to do health sciences, like anything related to medical field or dental field, but I was also very good at art, different painting, sculpting all that stuff. So I really wanted to do something where I could do both. And I think dentistry was the perfect fit because it was an amalgamation of both without me having to choose one of the two. The most rewarding parts of being a dentist is to make a patient smile with confidence. So many times patients come in not being able to smile or they're conscious about the way they look, and to be able to give them what they want and be confident about showing their teeth is amazing to me. Because honestly, teeth is what makes your face glow.
I had a dental degree from India, and I came here and I had to go to dental school again. So I graduated from NYU and then I started practicing. First I was in Texas and then I came here. I keep up with my continuing education courses, depending on what I like and what my area of interests are. I think having an art background or some relation to art helps me see teeth in a different way. I see them more as art and I envision them how I want it to look before I start working on them. And that gives me an extra edge on working on patients because to me it's not just teeth. It's about how it looks as well.
I feel for the patient and I'm a very empathetic person, and I always want to see how a patient feels, put myself in their shoes. And so that also gives me an extra edge over how I treat them. I look forward to seeing everyone who walks in the door and giving them the smile of their dreams. I think it's a beautiful place and a fantastic practice where you can get your teeth treated without stress and in a very calm and soothing environment.
Dr. Ankita Bansal, a licensed general dentist, graduated from New York University College of Dentistry with Honors. Dr. Bansal believes dentistry is the perfect amalgamation of art and science, enabling her to leverage both her artistic roots and dental education to care for and improve the lives of her patients. In addition, her emphasis on clear communication and building strong relationships with her patients in an effort to reduce the anxiety many patients associate with dental visits made her a perfect fit for Martins Dental Partners.
In her free time, Dr. Bansal enjoys traveling with her husband (who is also a dentist) and two beautiful children, reading, painting and other types of arts and crafts.
