So the reason I decided to go to dental school was one, because I love helping people, and two is the relationship that you get to build with them. I think one of the best things about dentistry is that you see your patients twice a year and you get to build a relationship with them. And hopefully, they’re people that become like family. The most rewarding part, I think, is seeing your patients and what changes have occurred throughout their years, whether it’s personal, professional, and realizing that you’re taking care of a whole individual, just not a set of teeth. So as far as my educational background goes, I graduated from the University of Virginia. Then I did my master’s at UMD&J, which is in New Jersey. Then I went to dental school at Tufts. And as far as continuing education goes, I really focus on restorative dentistry and basically the bread and butter of dentistry, ensuring that I can get patients where they need to be as far as their oral health is concerned. I always want my patients to feel as comfortable as they can with me, whether it’s telling me that, “Hey, doc, I need to hear every step of the way or don’t tell me anything, just let me know when you’re done.” That’s fine. We have Netflix and Pandora available so they can listen to that, watch that while I get my work done. But whatever they need to feel the most comfortable, to have the most pleasant experience possible, I strive to achieve that for them.
